Together, we are unstoppable.

Become a monthly donor AKA a Burkburnett Hunger Hero. Just $10.00 a month feeds one senior, but what you are giving is so much more than a meal - it’s a daily check-in, it’s a social interaction for those who are secluded, it’s a community -more like family.

Your Gift Will Feed Someone in Need

We are serving more seniors and our cost are up, but thanks to your generosity we have NOT implemented a waiting list. Which is our main goal right now, to make sure we don't have to have a waiting list of those in need in Burkburnett.

Mission

The mission of Burkburnett Meals on Wheels is to ensure that Burkburnett seniors and individuals with disabilities benefit from nutritious meal programs that improve their quality of life and maximize independence.

Burkburnett Meals on Wheels is guided by the belief that a person’s health reflects the nurturing of the whole person body, mind, and spirit. Our programs are dedicated to promoting the physical, social, and personal well being and independence of seniors, homebound, frail elderly and disabled adults in the Burkburnett area including Cashion community.  Programs and services enable people to enjoy good health and remain in their homes as long as possible.

Vision

Burkburnett Meals on Wheels envisions a community in which all basic needs are met and barriers to achieving independence are eliminated. We achieve this by raising both funds and awareness to support home meal delivery to eligible senior citizens and people with disabilities.

Even the fortunate among us, as we age, will experience a decline in mobility and health which strips us of our independence and diminishes our quality of life. Advances in medicine have extended life expectancies to record highs. One quarter of today’s 65-year-olds will live beyond the age of 90, and their daily chores will turn into insurmountable challenges. Maintaining health while aging comes at a price. Without support from programs like Burkburnett Meals on Wheels, seniors are forced to trade their homes for nursing facilities.

Michael Richter

CEO

Michael joined the Burkburnett Meals on Wheels in 2019 and the impact he has made is so huge. Directing the program through probably some of the hardest years at the center, Michael’s dedication to this community is what has been crucial to the programs survival. Burkburnett Meals on Wheels is blessed to have Michael.
